Hey guys. Anyone have pics handy of how the tire side of the Wheelhouse not turned out? I know how I did mine. And it's wrong. Resized_20190605_184938.jpeg

I did mine pretty much the same way that Twin2 posted above.

I notched my wheelhouses 3" but my jeep is lifted of course. Here you can see the tire to notch clearance. Keep in mind that as the body comes down on compression, the arc of the spring flattens and moves the tire backwards.

i will put it under its own weight tonight, see where that lands me.
also, i will double check the space when the seats installed. this is what im thinking to do. chop at the red line.

So I have been watching this thread. I have also read other threads discussing this topic. I just went out to look at Jeep wheel house notch. Never really thought about the need. Will someone please explain the need of the notch. My seats are all the back against the wheelhouse. Just don't see the the reason of the notch.

Believe me I know about the needed room. I just can't see where the notch gives any more room.

Mine looks similar to yours. I think i have mine moved back 4" from stock. Im 6'7" and my knees would be up against the dash if i didn't go that far. I normal height person could probably be fine with a 2" notch. I would have preferred to not have the bottom end be so pointy but the shape was dictated by the shape of the seats i used. The tires did rub against it a little but i relocated the axle back 1" the the tires clear the housing now.

i will move mine back another 3". there is plenty of room to angle that cutout. also, like others, i wont do the entire width of the wheel well. not for a bit though. tires clear, and i have an FC to get back to.
