I think those would look terrible on an old CJ

Add relays to make them brighter and take stress off of the original headlight switches. Relays will help regardless, but don't increase the bulb wattage unless you add relays. This has been covered thoroughly here and on other forums.

My old school halogen ones are plenty bright with relays.

I doubt that's an optically superior reflector design than a modern single bulb type like Tim offered. And I think they are ugly. Maybe on a Jk with frowny eyebrow grill, but not on a CJ.

Those are similar to the H4's I installed in the 3B in the mid 70's. They are still there and have only had one change on the bulbs in 4 decades and all fit in the stock headlight buckets. A good product. Auteros-made in France.

duffer, what model lights are those on your bumper? They look good; I'm seeking some non-led bumper lights for my Wrangler

Why? Led lights beat any carbon arc/halogen hands down

I strongly dislike the color temperature of most LED lights on a car. Too "cold" and also harsh to view head on. I know LEDs are superior in every way but I always hate when opposite direction traffic has LED headlamps. Also LED bumper lights would be a poor match for my headlamps.

I sort of hate to admit it, but maybe 10 to 15 years back HF had those lights for something like $12 apiece. I did modify the housings and installed different bulbs (100 watt amber) along with the rock shielding (just welded stainless screen from McMaster-Carr that I formed with a punch and die I made). I'm not one to put a lot of $ in something that could have a short life span.

I put some relays on my headlights when I bought the Jeep. Of course 2 new lights as well. Just as bright as a modern car. Its critical to run relays so you don't run power through the headlight switch. If you need pictures I can find some for you.
