I’m using an intermediate 44 on my cj6 build. The person I got the axle from had welded on some mismatched perches. I’m ready to weld the new ones on and was wondering if one of you guys could get me a measurement from the back of the housing flange to the center of the perch please?

Perhaps you should wait to see what dane71 says his measure's. I checked one I have out of the Jeep. 6 3/8 inches drivers side 6.5 inches passenger side.

It looks like the tape measure was a little to the left in the picture, anyways I'm thinking 6.5" on both sides

That was my thought too. But I made a living using a tape measure. So perhaps the 44 I have was welding up on a Monday or Friday.

Probably. I went and double checked cause I'd hate to mislead someone. 6 1/2 on the drivers side and passenger side is more like 6 9/16.

This might just be me, but you might get a more accurate measurement going off of the flanges at the ends of the tubes.

Or better yet, measure center-line between your springs at the hangers, then between the shackle mounts and split the difference if they're at all different. Subtract that from the distance between your axle's flanges and divide it by two. Come in that amount from each flange.

Well there you go 8.625 on either side. Flange to center.

The body tolerance was plus or -1/4 rich I wonder if the frame was set up the same way

I did ITLKEZ’s measurements this evening and got 8 & 13/16. Double checked math and measurements and it seems correct! Thanks guys!!
