Is there anyone that sells lettering stencils or better yet the white vinyl letters that I could use to fill in the raised stamped logos on a 1956 Willy's CJ5 (JEEP on the sides and Willy's on the tailgate).

Any tricks of the trade on how you did this to your jeep?

    Thanks

    Cliff

but should be easy enough to take to local sign or graphics shop and scan and have them make "sticker" for you. Done it with speedo face and the 4 wheel drive on the tailgate.

IIRC most Willys vendors (Walcks, etc) have the tailgate 4 Wheel Drive in vinyl letting. I had some made up years ago and sold them for awhile but the market caught on.

Not sure on the JEEP - I had a guy who did them in vinyl for me but I think he's hard to get ahold of as I don't think anyone else I sent to him came away successful.

If you find them and want to sell a set, send me an email and we can do some biz. Would still need a set for the tailgate.

Sure apprecate the others thougths on this subject. Thanks for replying to this post.

The factory seems to have used a roller, at least for the raised letters.

I do a little vinyl lettering on the side..I have a vinyl cutter. If someone could trace me the letters on the side of their jeep, I could try to make some stickers. The biggest problem I have had is finding the right Font for the letters. I am not a professional sign maker(I just spent the nite at a hoiday express :p )......I just do the best I can with the equipment that I have.

The Tub on my 1970 is a intermediate. I can use it as a guide for intermediates......but I will need help on WILLYs and ECJ5.

its just more of a Hobby. If I can get the letters right...i would offer them at cost/shipping to everyone here at ECJ5.

4wd sells the vinyl jeep letters. I have a set on backorder so I can't tell you how accurate they are.

I can. They list them as being for '55 - 95.

They have "Jeep" letters, not "JEEP" letters.

Tim, what if someone cut the JEEP out of an old tub and sent that to you. I'm sure there's a donor around somewhere. I painted mine on after thinning down some white enamel. Doesn't really look OEM but, that didn't matter on the 71. Gonna try to do better on the Park. It is white and the lettering appears to have been brownish/gold.

I have the JEEP letters. I made up some for my CJ on my vinyl machine. Your not going to find a font to fit them. I had to make them up on my own. My avitar is the finished product. I have several in white along with the 4wheel drive stencil too.

Doesn't look like the font is correct for the early stuff. Script from 55 - 95 varies quite a bit.
