Better check for LH threads before you order

I expect a '68 will be all right-handed. Earlier might have had left-handed lugs on the left (?) side, but they would have been marked with "L" on the ends of the studs, and they would look obviously different if you compare to a typical hardware store bolt (the theads will be sloped the wrong way).

    The right-handed rule:

Shouldn't the lug nuts be 13/16?

Mine were 1/2 - 20. I'd agree by 68 they should all be RH, but you never know what may have been swapped. I remember being surprised at the LH nuts in the first place. I finally figured it out after a 6ft jack handle on my breaker bar wasn't making any progress. :)

The hex size (socket used) is 13/16", but the actual thread count is 1/2" wide, 20 teeth per inch.

My 64 had hand on the drivers side. My 66 had all right hand studs.

You can always tell if an old project jeep has left handed threads on one side by the broken off lug on at least one of the wheels:rofl:

Get them at a good supply house. I bought lugs at a local generic parts house. No way would they go on. Purchased at Napa, thread pattern perfect.

Was puzzled for a bit, then returned the cheap ones.

Just a Point. Amazon has almost anything you want in lug nuts. I found left hand mag lug nuts, chrome, for older mags for my 15" X 8.5 mags.
