On a 1969 CJ5 with V6. Ordered with what I use to call "PosiTraction". Now all these years later I see Posi called about 3 or 4 different things. Can anyone help me understand what was stock back then? Thanks. BTW-I still have the JEEP-just not with me now. WestCoastPat

Yes. 69 would have come with a Power lock.

I believe what you are calling posi-traction is more generally known as a limited slip differential (LSD). The oem lsd for cj5s with the tapered d44 was a power lock. As Daryl said a 69 should be power lock.

This. Chevrolet called it posi traction, Ford called it Track-Lok, Pontiac was Safe T Trak, Mopar was Sure Grip, etc.
Different names (and different designs) for a limited slip diff.

You'll see all kinds of spellings but Spicer called them
    Powr Lok.
Spicer they also built the Trac Loc with its unique way of spelling.

Yes it's LSD for Jeeps but not the more potent variety AKA lysergic dilathetemine acid
