Used the same brake booster on my 47 cj2a. Worked great.

Well, here is my plan....The 6 ready for the Rubicon and maybe the Sierra Trek in 2020. This is going to be a challenge!

Well, this just hit a snag...sounds like I will have to rebuild the top half on the 6!:banghead:

Looks like I might as well do a frame off....

Hell, I hadn't even really started on it, was going to take down to get inspected...

Now, have the axles out, transmission coming out, and all new spring set up coming.:worry:

    Yup - scope creep...

You know how to stop that don't ya? Just start with saying "frame off restoration/resto-mod".... See my current build for example :D

I was always, going to do a major resto-mod...just wasn't planning on the motor.

Yep, ain't it always the way. Original plan is: buy a runner and drive it a few years, work on the immediate needs, then take it off the road (after you get another runner) and do a resto. Then this happens.

Got the axles out of my 69-6 and got it cleaned up and in my 71-5. I ordered the Rocky Road YJ kit for 6 and should be here in a couple of weeks.

The Rocky Road YJ kit is no it's way should be here on Tuesday!

I have the axles out of the two jeeps. Pulled the covers off the 69 axles, they are 3.73, the 30 is open and the tapered 44 is locked. Did clean up the 30 cover and got some paint on it....Hopefully, the new owner will love it!

    Hint, the 6 new color!!!!!

Ok, I need some tech advice for my brakes on the 71. I swapped the axles and hooked up the brake lines bled the brakes and all seemed well. Except, now my Mico Lever lock with not hold pressure? I have it set up on the front brakes, and it worked fine, before I switched axles, now I get nothing!

All lines are tight no leaks...I'm stumped.

Well after taking almost a month and a half to actually get everything for my Rocky Road YJ spring kit, I started to get the hangers on!

Interested to see if your front shackles come out with a proper angle. I've seen a few, including mine, that have the shackles angled back into the spring, instead of forward away from the spring. If I was to do this again I would take some more measurements of a stock YJ setup. Then consider moving one of the hangers/brackets to get the proper shackle angle.

You can kind of see the issue here.

I will look at that once I start on the front.

My first take on the kit, parts are quality, instructions take some reading, read more than a few times before I started.

One would think that they could post a lot more pictures (on web) to give examples... just a thought.

So my question is, anyone else that did the yj conversion have to place the front/rear shackles to correct the geometry?
