I have the original (NOS)jeep gas pedal in my 1971 cj5. It has the 225 V6. You have the pedal and then you have the bent metal rod that bolts to the firewall and that is what the pedal hits when you put your foot against the pedal. Well on mine that rod that the foot pedal hits seems to be too high and touches the foot pedal right where the logo JEEP is. Well my little feet don't reach the logo JEEP so it makes it hard to accelerate. Now if I move my foot higher on the pedal then it works fine, however my foot ends up above to JEEP logo and it is uncomfortable. I was thinking of bending the rod down some but I want to check with you guy's to see if you have a better fix.

Just out of curiosity how tall are you?
You do realize on these old jeeps you are suppose to rest your entire foot on the pedal, not use your toe like most people do on modern style gas pedals.

I'm 6' tall and found driving with the heel of my foot on the transmission hump, and just having the ball of my foot on the gas pedal makes for a comfortable, no leg cramping drive.
