Anti Sway Bars In Jeeps?

    Paging through my parts manual and noted an anti sway bar installation . when were those first installed? are they common?

    M38A1 (the CJ5's predecessor) had them, before the CJ5 existed. But most early CJ5s do not.

    They came back in the late 70s. Pretty standard on a CJ7. Most have been thrown away as they limit the flex and droop of the suspension off road.

    Depends on your Jeeps use and your style of driving.............as Daryl mentioned above pretty standard on the CJ's late in the 70's and throughout the 80's and beyond........but too stiff to be used without disconnects while off road...........Today most off road vehicles have come back to use some form of sway or anti-rock bar.........If you like a loose Jeep off road for flex and droop but hate it on the road while cornering and body roll a sway bar might be in your future..............I like the Currie anti rock bar.
