Every time I go to sell a Willys Jeep....everysingle time...everybody wants it to be stock...make it stock and sell it...the current one I trying sell the first thing they ask me..."do you have the parts to make it stock again???"
I bought my latest one on a whim and I should have waited to get a stock one...a stock one is a better investment all day long...

I changed my vote because of the guy above me ^^ making too much sense and your original statement is sort of misleading and/or manipulative :twist:.

Why does only a 225, a T14 and 12V make it a "driver"? What's so bad about retaining its charming anachronisms? :)

All day long I see older Jeeps on this forum and CL that are desirable.... until you look in the cab or under the hood and it's always been drastically bastardized and 'modernized' by some Bubba to make it more drive-able.

Completely oposite out here. Can't give away a stock Jeep because the 4 cylinder can't make it up our hills and the 9" brakes have no chance of stopping you going down the other side. I have had a couple totally stock Jeeps this year that I just needed to save because they were so original but they didn't bring anything for money. Back East there just aren't any left so you are playing a completely different game.

Maybe you need to ship the stock rigs you find out East?

I have three people looking for stock jeeps right now. Especially after getting the cj5 from Daryl, they all wan't something like that, all original and unmolested.

To really make this work financially - what is cheap in the east that is desirable in the west? Carry un-rusted jeeps east and bring back....? A family member in PA that works in finance for an auto dealer has been looking into this....not as many options moving vehicles east to west but possibly some AWD Subaru's and maybe some electric/hybrid type vehicles could be shipped west. Obviously its a different crowd of buyer/seller and a different knowledge base, so its difficult or unreasonable for a single person or dealership to work both types of vehicles. At one time he was looking to partner with someone that would specialize in the electric/hybrids while he focused more on classics and jeeps.

That's a tuff call.I do like the stock 2a but I might get tired of it soon. You have the ability to do the conversion correctly and add value.I don't have to tell you what most of these look like that are for sale on C/L . Have fun with that one until it goes away. Wheeled a m38 around ft lewis for couple weeks one summer. May be what got me hooked on jeeps. Like to meet you sometime.Maybe at the Moonshiners swap meet next year. mike

I have to ask, what did you pay to get that rig? Looks nice as hell.

I've been all over the PNW Craigslist ads and I must have missed that one completely.

What did you end up doing? Id keep it totally stock including going back to skinny wheels. But thats only because i have a lifted 2a and a v6 cj5. So your jeep would be like them both combined. Which would be good
