So I am wanting to remove my steering column so I can remove the body. What is the easiest way without having to lift the body up and over. Thanks in advance. Paul

    Ross steering or saggy?

If ross remove the floor pans & then unbolt the steering box from the frame, pull up & out.

You can remove a Ross steering box by removing the center floor panels that are bolted in?

Hey guys I’d like to clarify this because I’m in the middle of doing it on my 70 odd fire. There isnt enough room to get the ross steering box out due to the manifold. If you look at an FHead there is all kinds of room because the manifold is higher.

I’ll still be able to fish it out once I start to lift the tub and gain a few inches clearance, I think.

Lots of room on the f head.

Not so much on the dauntless the bracket with the three holes can’t clear the master cylinder or be otherwise snaked through. I hope once I go to lift the tub it’ll be enough room to get it out.

I had the same problem but I was removing it for replacement to power steering. I removed the steering column/worm shaft from the box and the box came out the bottom. If you do it this way be careful not to damage the shims between the flange and box. Lifting the body should help for clearance and come out together.
