Axle Bearings And Seals Recommendation

Need to buy new rear axle bearings and seals for a 1974 restoration. Only replacements I've found are Omix or Crown. I'm guessing the OEMs were likely Spicer brand or possibly Timken, are the Omix and/or Crown versions acceptable? If not what do you all recommend?

    Thanks.

I am not familiar with the intermediate CJ's, what rear axle is it? When I rebuilt the Dana 44 in my 68, I was able to find equivalent Timken bearings and National oil seals. Rock Auto by far had the best prices on Timken bearings FWIW.

It's a stock Dana 44 rear axle. Thanks!

Yep, check rockauto. I found Timkens there for my 74.

A '74 has a centered flanged Dana 44. The axle bearing is a 8124779, which is a Timken SET10 or an SKF BR10, both on RockAuto. This comes with the new retainer ring. You'll also need a new seal 994261 which comes up with Dana, Timken or SKF on RockAuto. The seal inside the axle is a 994258 which shows both Timken and SKF numbers on RockAuto.

Crown can be decent, avoid Omix.

Thanks Tim and others. Exactly what I needed.
