Rag Top

I'm looking to buy a rag top for my 73 cj5. I have looked at the Best Top/Supertop on the Morris 4WD site.
Bestop Supertop Black 51595-01
Does anyone know of a better top available, without being custom made?

Supertops are awesome...I love mine. It's 18 years old & just starting to show some wear and tear.
The rail mounting system is miles ahead of the old snap type, the doors are larger for easier ingress/egress, and the 2 piece doors and removable sides & back make it very versatile.

 

AFAIK your only choices today are the Bestop Supertop, the Bestop Tigertop, or custom.

 

And the zippers are junk.

 

Rub a little paraffin on the zippers and the work better. I did this on my 73 and it helped.

 

soap wont help if the pull brakes within a week,both the sets of doors i got did just that,found one from the 70s and it still works,go figure.

There is zipper lube available from the Jeep dealer that comes in a squeeze bottle with with a brush built-in specifically for applicating to the zipper. The stuff is sticky gorilla snot but sinks in and works well. I won some in a raffle and tried it. A little goes a long way.

 

Some of my zipper pulls broke on my BestTop. I attached black 3M zip ties and left a loop..
