I have just been given a safari windshield by a friend who had 2 of them. It is in fairly good shape, some minor rust spots, broken glass. This was the parts donor for the one my friend kept. This one is missing the right hand hinge and the left side latch. I know this is a long shot - but, does anyone know of a source or have a junker with those 2 parts available. If I can't find them I'll just make them - I was hoping to save some time.

    Thanks

By "hinge" i am guessing you mean the folding support arm? Not the hinge that runs along the top of the window?

Those parts are common with a number of military M-vehicles, I believe. Try the truck vendors?

Thanks PeteL, that's exactly the part I'm talking about. I will see if I can pull a part number off the one on the left side. The same probably applies to the latches.

IIRC, the Dodge power wagon M-37 used the same pieces, among others. But "verify-in-field."

I believe you will be able to find those parts on the "Beachwood Canvas" site. I would go broad with part discription
and just type in windshield parts. That should give you a full range of parts for different vehicles.

I will call them in the morning to confirm, but it appears they do have the parts. Thank you both.

I spoke with Dan at Beechwood Canvas this morning. He identified my windshield and sent me a list of all parts he has in stock. He is checking for a couple of other items and once he updates the list I will place my order. Thanks again PeteL and Irishman.

Update on the Safari Windshield: Dan at Beechwood has come up with all the parts I requested and the rebuild will start soon. It will have to wait a bit because, unfortunately - I broke my right femur on the 23rd of April.
Thanks again to all you who directed me to Beechwood.

    That's a pretty big deal.
Hope you avoided any complications, and that you heal well.
