Engine Paint Color?

Hey everyone! Long year, moved from NH to the Nashville area and finally getting around to doing the restoration on my ‘64 CJ6 Tuxedo Park. As a dealership tech the last thing I want to do most days it work on my own vehicles, but really trying to get going on this!

Question for today is about engine colors. I have read tons of threads and nothing is sure on this thing. Jeep is in rough shape, but having one of less than 500 is worth every penny I sink in to her and I want it to be EXACTLY like factory. I see no glimmer of red paint on the engine so I am assuming that it was the blue-ish color? If that was the only other option for the 134 than it’s somewhat settled! Any info on an exact (or closest) match to the factory color used on these engines?

    Thanks in advance!

I don't know the engine color answer but if you were to paint it black and paint any accessories (oil filter canister for example) the proper color and label them correctly it's almost guaranteed no one would say the engine isn't correct. Everything about the body would be the focus of attention.....proper chrome parts and nothing added that would not have come on it from the factory. :coffee::)

My 64 model’s f134 is painted black, with a yellow background Hurricane decal on the valve cover.

134's F and L were painted black unless the Tuxedo park has a special engine color.

Sounds great Bobby, That is a rare Jeep indeed. Beach Bum has one that he has been working on, trying to find Tux parts is difficult, anyone that has them don't want to give them up. I hope you have all the Tux parts you need. Good Luck, keep us posted on your project. Rick

The column- shifted Tuxes (F134) had the engine painted black.
There were approximately 7,419 MKlV Tuxes built in the CJ5 body for the production run. Now your going to make me compile the production numbers for the CJ6 varient! I do know they were nearly the lowest production model, next to some of the Military FC trucks.
I love hearing you intent on putting this one back as close to stock as you can.
