Herm the Overdrive guy has some new parts available for the old uprights.
Brake bands, shifter, brake handle and cable assemblies. They all look really nice.

There were some new replacement motors listed on Ebay a few months ago. I believe they are available if you do a little looking. They were about $100.

Thanks to Herm for supporting the early jeep and winch products. This may help the sales and use of these vintage winches on ECJ5 's for period correct look.
Herm is only a hour away from me and I love to go visit with him when I need parts. Super nice man. mike

Are these new parts billet ? or cast like the old stuff that used to brake?

They are cast and polished. The production parts will be here mid March. I have always liked the look of these old winches on a flatfender. It will be nice to get a couple of them up and running.

There was a guy not far from here that was building Billet CNC arms out of 6061T6 Aluminum.......I bought one ...........but I never broke one of the Brake arms , but seen many that did..........not a pretty site when that happens!

Someone was selling replacement arms on eBay IIRC they were stainless, the original band brake is/was IMHO not very effective, I intend to replace mine with a hydraulic disk brake from a motorcycle or snow machine, the master cylinder would be actuated by a between the seats mounted hand brake lever. This could be done on a Dana 18/20 also, for an e-brake. Yes, I am aware of the legalities.
