Seems to me this is an opportunity for a DIY upgrade to a mechanical switch.

I would like to do that, but on a V6 Jeep with a dual master cylinder, the access to the area around the brake pedal is nonexistent.

I put Dot 5 in my jeep, killed three brake light switches before I finally got one from Ron Francis's that was made for Silicone. No more problems.

    Doug....

What switch do you recommend... your past due.
I got one that leaves the lights on for me until the battery is dead.

I seem to have to hit mine with a wire brush every few months to clean it up and it'll work again, was wondering if I should put some dielectric grease to keep it from gumming up and get some extra time between brushings?

I just put a mechanical switch on mine. I dont know what its from. I welded a bracket onto it extended over to the frame. bolted on with one bolt in an existing hole. It can be bent back and forth to adjust when the light comes on. You can see the last pic the switch arm hits the pedal arm right about where the master connects. Sorry for the crap pics my camera died before i could get a good shot
