Does anybody know if a Dana 27 u-joint yoke thing will fit on a wide track (86ish) Dana 30? My driveshaft won't attach to my new to me Dana 30, just need to know the best way to get them connected. Thanks.

As I recall, the D27 splines are 10? D30 are more. I think I had to buy a new yoke when i did mine. Buy the one that uses the Ubolts and not the straps. Hopefully I put enough errors in here for you to get the right answer.:D

When I put my SM465 in I converted the small D27 yokes to 1310. The driveline shop was able to cut off the yoke and attach the new yoke it to the driveshaft. I recently installed a D30 and the 1310 fit.

    Dana 27 pinion spline count

    As per nickmil's post:
"27 had 26 spline pinion yoke."
"Flanged 44's and 30's typically had 26 spline yokes like the 27 but the yoke depth was different and the do not interchange correctly"

When I had the driveline shop upgrade mine they did need to cut the yoke down.

Thanks for the info guys. Here's what I did. I bought a yoke off a transfer case which matches the 27 spline of the D30. This let me use everything else as is. It's a bit longer than the stock D30 yoke but my lift makes it ok. Here are the two yokes side by side.

This is a good bit of information. Just I am not 100 percent sure if your yoke was from a Dana 18 or 20 and year it came off. If you happen to know. Thank you.

I wish I knew, the guy at the junk yard drove around and came up with the yoke for me, I didn't see what he pulled it from. With the knowledge that flies around here somebody will know exactly what that is, hopefully they tell us.
