Typically sixes are waaaay too long for the Jeep engine compartment. The shortest of the bunch is the Ford 170/200, and when they put these in (in Australiia) they move the firewall back. Studebaker sixes were also popular in the day, because both companies used the T-90. So it was an easy bolt up, but the back of the valve cover ended up under the cowl.

Supposedly the Cadillac 472/500 engine is quite compact for its displacement. They are a popular swap in the Wagoneer. I presume yu're talking about the 426 Hemi here? I hear the 331 was also a very heavy and bulky engine.

Another year older lol. Has anyone done a Magnum in a ECJ5 in the meantime?

My eyeball calculus says swing pedals are a near must.
