I did quick search in the forums and came up empty so I'm sorry if this has already been covered and I missed it...Anyway if anyone is looking for the round marker light found on the side spare tire carrier it looks like an aftermarket replica is available:

As a complete marker light kit

70-83 JEEP CJ5 CJ6 SIDE MARKER LAMP KIT WITH LIGHT SOCKETS & BULBS 994035 | eBay

    Or as a stand-alone part

    JEEP CJ5 CJ6 SPARE TIRE SIDE MARKER LAMP L RED RIGHT W/Socket & Bulb 1970-83 | eBay

I've been looking for one of these so I thought I'd share.

Yep, great that it's available. We (I?) used to call that "the elusive round side marker" or something like that because there were so few of them still intact. IMO the price is a little high, but if it cost $5 in 1973, it would be nearly $28 today just from inflation. Too bad they don't supply vintage price lists along with the reproduction parts catalogs.

It is interesting because I did a search for this very part on ebay about 3 weeks ago and turned up nothing. Did it again yesterday and no fewer than 3 sources.

Looks like a Crown part. You can buy it direct. Did you know they have a retail store in Canton, Mass? Jeff the manager is great.

Jeff and the store is great for eastern Mass residents. Last I talked to him, he said they cannot sell Crown products out of state due to contract obligations to their retailers. But they will sell and ship to anybody in Massachusetts. They will answer questions by phone regarding the Crown products, and refer you to one of their retailers if you are located out of state.

Worth a visit to check it out and meet/greet, even if you don't need parts.

That's great to know about the Crown store. I came across them on the internet but have not yet reached out. The harness is definitely a Crown component and the wires are far to short, not sure about the light.

The socket in the "kit" looks like a generic replacement socket to me. I've bought them online somewhere, maybe Dorman or Petersen. The original harness is about a foot long, covered in plastic tubing and has a plug that connects with the factory harness.

"We only ship inside Massachusetts" That's great but the county I live in is bigger then the whole state.

Apparently their agreement with Quadratec (and maybe others) prevents nationwide shipping. IIRC Quadratec is their largest distributor.
