Just mocked up. So I ditched traditional Saginaw because I wanted the PTO Ramsey. Was going to go reverse Ford outside the rail like ITLKSEZ did recently. Missed the box on evilbay and they are pricey and hard to find otherwise. Thought about Herm's and Astro but just never felt warm and fuzzy. Then saw on another forum where someone used a manual vette box which had a long sector. Again too much$$ The Delphi 600 boxes are popular with the hotrodders and I saw a mention where the Grand Cherokees are a good donor. Plentiful and $60 to my door good take off! Long sector and sporty ratio to boot. I'll be getting some plate to fab a mount this week. Ramsey is centered and it slips right in . Steering shaft slips under the grille with the body lift. Grille mount and shock mount to be relocated. Current idea is to incorporate box mount with winch frame. Stay tuned! That's a funky top cap on that box. How deep does that hole go?

I fought with a box from a Mitsubishi Montero for about an hour in the local yard before bailing on it. Same style, but 2/3 the size. ...And a front-facing pitman arm, now that I think about it. Never mind. :) Brain fart.

So after an 8 hr grind it's done.
Bored through the frame and shackle mount for 3 bolts, welded in tubing
Fabbed up the mount and welded it to the winch mount.
Everything fits in. Tight but there's clearance. Dowl mock up shaft looks good. Factory pitman arm will give me an almost parallel drag link with the tie rod flip and 2.5" lift springs.

A few small things left. Relocate shock mounts behind the axle. Get a drag link fabbed. No interference at all with motor mounts or manifold. Need a short bolt for the below the rail hole. Pretty happy with this. PS lines should go nicely through the 3" Dom I installed :D

PS mods if you want to move this into the power steering sticky thread I'm good with that.

I like what you're doing , but if you do much Freeway driving that ratio is pretty fast on a short wheelbase vehicle....

I like it. Nothing better then to wander the wrecking yard and look for potential donor parts. Just when you thought every conceivable steering setup had been done.

12:7-1 ratio. My need for speed days are over and if it see's much freeway it'll be on a trailer. Deliberately not installing an OD. The t-18 and 5:38' s should keep me tame.
