I had a mono leaf on the rear of my Commando and when I replaced the Dana 30 with a Dana 44 with one piece axles I replaced the Mono leaf with a Multi Leaf it road a little stiffer and a little higher. I have had to have springs made in the past and Betts Spring Manufacturing | Custom Coil and Leaf Spring Manufacturing in Fresno was able to make them from specifications they already had, the price was reasonable and it only took about a week to get them. They can also re-arch an old set if not broken.

Years ago I replaced the broken spring hangers on my 68 Commando with Ford Ranger hangers - which for some years also used a mono leaf spring with an offset on the spring axle location.
Slightly wider, readily available hangers and springs

    Definitely not stock!!!

Though retired "kinda" I built, repaired, modified Jeepsters for over 40 years thus giving me a little insight on these rigs. Old Jeepster guys would remember me as Jeepsterjim. Go multi pack. Mono leaf is dangerous do to breakage. Make sure you check the pivot hangers closely, they are famous to crack and break off.

Interesting that you would associate single-leaf with breakage. The Jeepster race cars at my old place-of-employment (Brian Chuchua's) ran the single leaf rear exclusively. No breakage issues AFAIK. NB Brian would weld the bejesus out of the factory frames, so that might be important.

Small world, I knew Brian and I used to drive up to Corona? and buy some of his Jeepster inventory up. At one time He ran a WIDE rear end that had two sets of spring packs on each side. Tried to buy all his? bantam jeeps and Jeepster fiberglass body molds but ended up producing my own. He differently was "MR JEEP"
Used to watch racing legends, Brain, vic hicky, sandy cone, steve mc queen, larry minor (bronco), Moody and stroppe, etc. good times back then.

The springs do break, right where they start arching up from the thick flat bottom area. They did ride better though.
A good but inexpensive setup was using the main jeepster leaf "NOT A MONO" with '78 waggie spring pack. Minus waggie main leaf and overload leafs. Waggie leaves are tapered and have the nylon? disc's between the leaves thus giving a more progressive spring pack. worked well for those not wanting a lift and on a budget.
