Not for a CJ5. They would have slots for the tailgate...

My parents deal antiques... those may very well be some sort of old window hinges or something. That's why I'm not even sure if they're Jeep or not.

I searched pages and pages of images of the keywords "Willys hinge" and "Jeep hinge" and saw nothing like them. The closest were hardtop door hinges, but they were all stamped, not cast. Who knows.

I'm inclined to say they are to be vertically oriented, with gravity holding the pin and the other half of the hinge in place.

The hinge casting appears to be same as the cowl side of the hood hinges on my 55 cj5 with the exception that my hinges are slotted for hood removal. I thought they did away with the slots at some point. I am not as familiar with the trucks and wagons but it would not be suprising to me to see the same hinge used for something else.

...except for that oil hole in each one. Are the bolt holes different diameters in that picture?

Not an early Willys Jeep pickup. The tailgate was hinged on extensions of the bottom tube.

I think the one has washers bonded fast with paint.

You are correct. I knew it was a spring and should be located as in the link posted by Focker. Where Baldjosh's is mounted it looks original but could have been moved. Which has resulted in it not functioning as designed and being in the way.

I guess this thread is open to everything. Here goes. I know they're seat belts, but are they Jeep and, if so, what year? CAM00419.jpg IMG_20190518_180728.jpg CAM00422-1.jpg

    I'd guess they are aftermarket.
