Is that a scrambler?

 

Thanks for the question. Well, where the photo is from said CJ7-- and I so liked the look I jumped to that conclusion. Looking more closely at the top in question--it states- Overlander.

Here's the best I could do, so far, regarding the CJ7 and the CJ8 top. Most internet sources on like images say the rig in question is a CJ8 Scrambler.

--"Jeep also produced all-metal World Cab tops for the CJ-7 with the same big swinging rear door, but these are much more rare in the US than the CJ-8 World Cabs."-- (There's a Jeep ad for the CJ7 World Cab)
--"Both CJ-8 and CJ-7 World Cabs were produced in pretty good quantities in Venezuela"--
--"My CJ8 Overlander (Australia) has the tin top."--

There's a site out there with 471 pages on the styling -- I quit!

 

I know of at least two Jeeps in my area that has this builder make this top for their Jeeps.
Drive to Fresno and leave the Jeep there for a week or two.
They had to make their own doors.

 

Check out ebay item #181965255331. It is just the top of a CJ5 metal hardtop, but I can't make out the manufacturer name embossed in the photo. It doesn't look like anything on the list yet.

Your list is missing the Boston Top made by New England Willys






Recently one of these has been discussed on a CJ2A facebook page. Guy didn't know what it was I spotted the suicide doors and the Boston is the only Top I knew of with the Suicide doors.

Like walking back into time, he had some neat stuff...probably still does.

 

I don't know if it was popular or not but there was Husky top also.
