Replace it with “It's a Small World After All”.

Are the wipers better than the old original style replacement wipers? I'd like to have better wipers on mine and have even been considering swapping for the newer style windshield frame...

YES. There is zero play in them. Some of the gears inside are plastic, but well-greased. Some of the $$ ones advertise as all steel gears, but I couldn’t see spending huge money on something I’ll use twice a year.
These motors are single speed, but the 2-speed motors aren’t much more.

The replacement ones available at all the willys suppliers or other purveyors are pure 100% trash. Worthless.

Wipers are finished. I made little tabs for the switches. I ran a switch for each motor since they won’t be synchronized anyway. I need to get some wire loom stuff to hide the wires.

I used a 2-prong trailer wire connector as a disconnect.

It now has radio! I grabbed a cheap antenna from the LAPS and ran it through the back of the console.

I did the same thing on my ‘70 back in ‘91, and again on Mighty Mouse. :p

Referring to the arm and blade, I replaced mine with Wexco arms, they have a stronger spring and they use a J hook blade, like the rear blade off a 95 Cherokee. Which also means you can get Rainex blades on your Jeep :)

I thought I had posted about this in Feb 2015, but I can't find the posts or the pix's I took. If there is interest I'll get pix

If I put a separate switch on the passenger side my wife would wear out the wipers too fast...

Thats really funny. I have always driven old junk and when i first met my wife I was driving a blazer that was in a junkyard for a while. I told her not to use the windshield wipers too much or too fast became they will wear completely out.. She thought it was a joke and still does to this day.. Still, don't use them too much, you'll wear em out!

I figured out why the alternator wasn’t charging. I snipped the energize wire. :banghead:

I cut so many wires in this harness when I was thinning the herd, I’m surprised I’m not finding more were vital to its operation. This one though, I have no idea where it went, so now I need to add a diode to prevent back flow.

I took it for another 6 mile drive this morning. So fun.

A 10-pack of diodes was cheaper than one single one, so if anyone needs one, send me $2 and a self-addressed, stamped envelope. (y)

I got the fire extinguisher mounted. I can’t get behind that panel without removing the floors, and that ain’t happening. So for now, it’s mounted with 2 sheet metal screws and four 3M Command Strips.
