    I finally bit the bullet and purchased a new vehicle, 2015 Ford Focus ST. I've been putting off purchasing a vehicle for quite some time. I haven't had a car payment since 2004, so the idea of monthly payments was a bit much for me stomach at first. I think what finally pushed me over was the fact I keep spending all my free "garage time" wrenching on the Cherokee to keep it on the road. It is still dependable and has no major issues, but at 225k+ everything starts wearing out and breaking. Wife was getting tired of unexpected purchases hitting the checkbook too. :D At this point in time, my time is more valuable than money. Two jobs and family keeps me on my toes, so not a whole lot of time to work on projects.

    Anyways, back to the ST. I'm so happy with this car, there is no comparing the comfort and ride to either of my Jeeps. Sadly, I think my CJ-5 rides better than my Cherokee. :rofl: I have the benefit of telecommuting most of the time, but when I do have to go into the office the route is 40 miles one way. 2.0L EcoBoost DOHC Turbo and 6 speed manual and great gas mileage. Averaging 27.4MPG so far with only 300 miles on the clock. I think the best thing I love about this car is the heated seats. I should have bought these a long time ago.

    Oh yeah, and I still have the Jeep. No way I'm getting rid of it. :beer:

    27.4 doesn't seem right
    you might need to reset it to get rid of the test drive factor.
    We just got a trax 1.4l turbo 6 speed auto I reset to factory and took it on a long 55 mph drive. It got 34 then and is down to 29.8 with mixed driving.

    I have a friend who bought one of those...runs like a bat outta hell & handles like a slot car!
    I think a manual transmission Focus (the automatics have issues) are great little cars.

    I finally had to fill the tank, reset the trip meter. I also put premium in it which is supposed to make a difference. Most of my commute is freeway, but only "freeway" speeds in the morning. In the afternoon, one could drive a Ford Model T...Portland traffic... hate it. Good excuse to drive the CJ-5 to work though, never have to worry about getting past 55 lol.

    I've been taking care to baby the engine, but I've pushed it a few times around 3800-4000 rpm. I've been trying to get a feel on what exactly I can and can't do with it. I really need to take it up to the Portland track. I guess they have track days you can bring stock vehicles and drive them on the track. I'm 100% comfortable in Jeeps, I've been driving them my whole life. I know what I can and can't do with them. I'm not quite sure with this car, and that makes me uncomfortable. At least with the car, it stops a whole lot quicker. :D

    Nice car!!!! :drool::drool:

    that is on my short (well actually kinda long) list when shopping for my next car.

    I dont know that I'd have the restraint not to run it flat out at least once within the first week of ownership.

    I'll be interested to hear what kin of fuel mileage you get with it as it breaks in.
