The snow is flying up high. It's almost time to mount these tires up again!

I remember trying to ride my kawasaki 100 in the snow when I was about 13. Didnt go well, but I didnt have death tires like that.

Nope, just trail ride. Our season is only about 4 months long here, and it was shortened even more with fire danger this year. It's finally damp enough to go ride again, and the mountains are already covered in snow. :(

I've found that 4-6" of snow is ideal for those tires. Any less and it's a mess, any more and it sinks. It's a real test of patience and strength swapping them over.

I had a bald tire on my KDX 175 when I was 12 in the snow. My handlebars were U shaped by spring from crashing.

Years back I was out in the garage working on one of my Yamaha XT 550s. of course after working on it I had to take it out for a ride. There was a small patch of snow under one of the trees in the front yard, maybe 1/2 inch and the tires were good. Laying there on the ground after after I figured that it wasn't something I was going to do again. Don't blip the throttle like that in the snow.

I wish I only had one "other project". I might actually finish something. This one made it in out of the rain this afternoon so I thought I would post it on here.

Ran the Mojave Road this past weekend with my dad in our 1993 Nissan Pathfinder with a 3.4.

About 3 miles after leaving Kelso Depot the auto trans went 'clink' and then we lost it.
That was at about 2. Called around and it turned out a friend was about an hour and a half away at his desert property.
With his F550 work truck and 24 foot trailer with a 12k pound winch.

Talk about luck. That tow would have been extremely expensive otherwise.
