Pretty sure the front drums won't be to much trouble coming off, had them off before. If your going to replace that much, is this a good time to change to 11" brakes? Unless you want to keep it original. Glad to see your progress.

Well I replaced shoes, cylinder and springs. Had to file down the hub to get the new drum over.

My next question is about the 3 screws. If the screw heads arent perfectly flush with the drum is that a issue? Drill out the hole in the drum a little? New screws?

    thanks again

How much did you file down the hubs? if you only cleared off the rust & ridges where you hit them with the hammer then the hub will center the drum & you don't need the screws at all.

That depends on the back of the wheel. If it rests on the screw heads, then they need to be down more. But the reality is that the screws really aren't needed to hold the drum on, the wheel will do that just fine.

Phase II. Got the rears rebuilt and moving up front.
Do I need to remove the locking mechanism to get the drum off?
Seems tight but it may be possible? Or not.

    Thanks

I can get my drums off without having to remove the locking hub, but just by inspecting the picture Im not sure this would be the case for yourself. Looks like a very tight tolerance there...
