One of my inner seals on my Dana 30 is leaking pretty bad. I was wondering how you replace these things? Do I have to remove the carrier and pound it out from the outside and then install the new one from the inside of the case?

The axle shafts and differential CASE need removed. Then the axle seals can be removed as you describe. Then they must be pressed from the inside out. Good time to thoroughly clean rust and debris from the tubes. The difficult part is pressing the seals into the tubes without damaging them. There are special tools for this but some 1/2" all-thread, a couple nuts, and thick washers the right outside diameter can work.

A big socket like a 36mm to set in the recess perfectly of the seal and driven in from the opposite side with long extensions worked well on my TJ. The key is starting them straight. YouTube shows this.

Remember to mark your bearing caps and reinstall them exactly the way they came off.
You can usually leverage the seals out from the inside using the pointed end of a pry bar. This will help keep you from sweeping a bunch of crud into the housing.
Insure you clean the seal area thoroughly.
Touch up the axle seal surface with some light emery paper.
Of course, be sure you do both sides.
