  1. Here is my most recent project....... Started as a rusty Toyota flatbed....ended up as my family's favorite home away from home! Best project I ever!!!

Awesome! I have a jeep body I want to turn into a trailer and do this exact thing! Would you mind listing the layout kind of? Is the grill in the toolbox?

    Looks good!

You got some cool stuff going on

  4. Thanks! Yeah the kitchen is in the tool box. I have a water tank mounted under the trailer and a flo jet pump. Eccotemp water heater, LED lighting throughout. 12v on board power. I bought a Coleman popup, and stole the sink, stove, and heater to add to my project.....that saved me a ton of money..... I used an old counter top for the kitchen. The entire trailer is recycled minus the tent that came from CVT tent. I have very little coin in the whole project. The tent was by far the most expensive thing.

Dry Ice will work..............but you have to have a properly vented cooler.......also some special packaging of the items is required that you want to remain frozen for your trip. We have been in the field for 7-10 days and still had frozen foods.

That's a slick setup! Love that fact that almost all of it was re-purposed. Nice work.

  12. Thanks mike. It really has been fun. My family and I have been camping so much more this year since I built the trailer. It was a very worth while project.

Nice job. I have a M-416 that I want to do the same thing with. I also have the Tractor Supply tool box. Any updates on it, sense you started?

  16. Thank! No air condition... That is my heater. Since my original post I have done a few small upgrades. I added an awning and some LED lighting. I also got a Dometic toilet and made some other small changes to make life more comfortable. It has worked flawlessly! We have had it all over this summer in all different types of weather. I would still like an ARB fridge and I would also like to upgrade my on board power setup and add some solar panels. Its the best thing Ive built. Fun for the whole family!

Is it difficult to setup the tent portion being up in the air that far?

  18. Not at all. I can unhook and have the the tent, water, awing, and heater setup in under an hour. The tent is the easiest part. Once the cover is off you just pull out the ladder while standing on the ground and use it as a lever and the whole thing opens like a clam and boom its setup. There are no poles or stakes. Its a very cool design. the matters and bedding stays inside and is held in place with Velcro strips from underneath.
