Yup, too many guys with 40” tires at tamarack for me. Not that big tires are bad, I just like a peaceful, quiet place to sip my brews.....Twin lakes area is small and much rougher to get to.

I like those 40" tire's guy's....when you follow them with a 35" inch cj5 and them you take the road and look at them get the rig on their trailer :p

You hit the nail on the head....... All their trailers get parked a couple miles away from their destination. Once I got back to the main road, I picked up trash all the way out...... :censored:

Norcal69 can your roof rack be used with the best top on but windows n doors off? Also care if I use your idea for it?

I'm full of ideas....... Doesn't mean they are good...:sneak:... But you are welcome to copy anything you see here.

Here is the roof basket back when I first built it. I literally threw it together in 2 hours before heading out of town. The brackets are just shaft collars with flat stock welded to them. The top in the picture is my Super top with out the doors or windows. I only run the roof basket in the summer time so it doesn't matter that the doors and windows cannot be used. We are going to throw a basket on the top of steve's 71 before the rubicon trip. It will be mounted the same way. Steve got the 64" long basket instead of my 40"..... I'm jealous......

Thanks a lot. I like idea of having the option to use extra storage, when it’s nice out the doors n windows would be off most of the time anyhow.. maybe even windshield down if it’s a real nice day

I drilled holes in the top of the roll bar and welded nuts to it then put bolts through the rack into the nuts. I have not gotten to it yet but I want to add grommets to the top and put the top between the rack and roll bar.

You guys on the rubicon trip saw my front fender damage. I got after it with a hammer and a variety of blocks of wood. After an hour or so I was able to get the general shape back into it and the fender lip back out to where it needed to be. I'm thinking that I will just spot touch this up without any filler.

I have a little more hammering to do on the main big roll and the fender lip, but otherwise the metal came back to shape pretty good.

I'm pretty happy with the direction that this is going. Using a variety of hammers, pieces of steel and blocks of wood here is where I am at. There are lots of little dents from errant hammer strikes that I think I can planish out in conjunction with the final metal movement. Kinda work of the fender roll, work on the flat metal, back to the fender roll ect...... Perhaps I was a little aggressive at the start... can't imagine why......

Here is what I used to get the main fender roll back to shape. From here I'll remove the tire so I can get just to a better position for fine tuning. Always have to remember that lots of small precise strikes are better than a couple big whacks....... :D

Outer edge of the fender is pretty close......

Top of the fender needs to come up a little bit.
