    Got completely side tracked removing the old Ross box mount. Some PO welded it, but I didn't know that until I ground the rivets out and it wouldn't come off. 2hrs of my life I'll never get back! :mad:

    Each time I pull a rivet off an old frame. I get faster at it, think about it as an investment. An investment for another Jeep!!!! or something just as cool. :)

    Oven cleaner from the 99ยข store on the engine is destroying the grease...Way better than Gunk and cheaper too!

    I broke out my DIY soda blaster...16lbs of store brand baking soda for $10. The bananas are for the wife. :)

    Soaked in "The Works" toilet bowl cleaner...Then soda blasted.

    The only thing left to prep and paint are the valve covers. EVERYTHING else is cleaned and painted! (y)

    Dupli-Color "Pontiac Blue" DE1610...I love it and it was on the shelf locally!

    The weather here this week has been wonderful...I actually got a little sun burnt yesterday.

    Well...I was going to go gloss black on the valve covers...But now I'm thinking of staying blue for the contrast in the black engine bay. I painted the oil pan aluminum...But now I might go blue with it too.

    What do you think?

    Aluminum on the pan and valve covers could look very nice. You could also strip them if you don't like the way it comes out. I'm not sold on the black. Would "dirty up" the engine instead of brightening it up. Plus would blend too much with a black engine bay. My 231 was painted close to that color, pan and engine, but I put on chrome valve covers. Have some polished Holley finned waiting to go on...
