I'm helping a friend with a 73 project. The install involves a 4" lift from Hell Creek Suspensions. They ask for "shackle bolt Dia." for the front and rear springs. They are assuming that the hardware for both ends of the spring is the same size. It's not on my friend's rig. The front springs have a smaller pivot bolt compared to the shackle end. The pivot measures 7/16's and the shackle end is 9/16's. The rear springs are all the same at 7/16's. This is tripping up the lift supplier and we're not sure what to do. My question is, did the commando's have this difference in hardware size on the front springs from the factory?

Should be 9/16 both ends. Checked the parts manual and it doesn't list anything other than 9/16. Got a picture? Could be someone used a CJ shackle maybe? I see they're listed as 7/16. Do you have the springs off yet?

    jpflat2a what's that noise?

The front shackle and hangar list 9/16.
The rear or solid end shows either 1/2 or 9/16
Yet only one spring bushing is shown for the rear eye????
The rear spring bolt is shown as 1/2.
That's what my parts manual shows.

Thanks guys. Turns out that the front spring is 9/16 shackle end and 1/2 on the pivot end. Apparently, this is the stock configuration. The lift supplier only asks for the shackle end diamensions because they already have the sizes for the pivot end on all the vehicles they make lifts for. If you haven't delt with them, Tom at Hell Creek Suspensions is the guy to speak with. Very knowledgable and and great to talk to.

    Good day.........
