NO WHITE SUPERTOP FOR EARLY CJ-5. Spoke with Bestop today. They will be making white for the later CJ-5. Darn darn darn! I really wanted a white top for my 64 Tux. Going to try to find a custom made one. Wonder if a group order would work?

I'd sooner have a later top made to fit or have one made at a boat upholstery shop.

I wonder if they will at least make a tigertop for the early 5's...

Gave up on white top. Price on custom was $2200. Ordered & received a tan (brown) Supertop. I still want a white top.
Hopefully this will keep most of the rain off.

That's a great deal too bad they don't offer a better choice in colors.

Why don't old Jeeps have any love in the top market? I understand it's a cost thing having to change what you produce, but how hard is it really, from a cost stand point, to change the roll of black fabric to another color at the beginning of an assembly process? You aren't changing tooling or any production process.

I really think Bestop has all the business they want. I bet it's all they can do to keep up with current orders from Chrysler. I saw a while back where Jeep celebrated their 1 millionth JK Wrangler produced since 2007. I know probably at least half of JK Wranglers produced come with a hardtop, but the rest are soft tops. That means just in the last 7 years, they probably made 500,000 soft tops for the assembly line jeeps. That's not to mention all the replacement tops sold through 4wd.com, 4wdhardware.com, and quadratech.com.....just for TJ and JK's

I think most of the JK's come with a soft top even if it's factory equipped with the hard top.

Nope, I bought a brand new 2012 JKU. If they come with both, it's called a "dual top" and that's a special equipment add on. I went through hell trying to find a Sahara Tan Sahara 4 door back in October 2011. The dealership looked for 2 weeks before they found another dealership willing to do a swap. We looked at a bund of equipment window stickers in Chrysler's server system. I'm not saying we didn't see any, but there were more jeeps with NAV systems than Dual Tops. Dual tops was an add on and it was up there on the price. It was like another $1500 on top of $3000+ for the painted hardtop price....and yes, they charge extra for paint on the tops and fenders.
