Got the winch rebuilt, just took it apart, clean out the old grease and put it back together. Had two winches, took the best parts and made one.

Filled the engine with oil, primed it. Will be running a oil pressure gauge for a while, till I see that the oil light is working.

The clutch fork was not disengaging the pressure plate. Could not figure out what was going on. Pulled the engine, clutch fork was not installed right. Reinstalled clutch fork, put engine back in. Jeep rolls when transmissions is in gear and clutch pedal is pressed. Got about a hour worth of work to do to get me back to where I was. Hated to lose a day fixing this problem, had to be done.

Nice job. I feel your pain. Just re-did mine (had to install the fork).

Back to working on the Jeep, bathroom remodels about done.

Been putting off trying to get the engine started, looking for a friend or two to help me. Finally I told myself, I am going to do it. I sorta stepped out of my comfort zone on this. Set the engine to TDC, put the distributor in. Got a gallon gas can with some gas in it. Friday evening got a older fuel line and poured some gas into the calibrator. Cranked the engine several times and it fired up, hooked the timing light up and adjusted the timing. Let the engine run for about a minute, then started it up again. It purred, it was sweet. I also figured out the wiring and it worked, which was a issue. I am so happy, can not I believe I have made it this far. I see a little glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel. This was a all some day.

Made this ground block out of a piece of copper buss bar I got off the job. Drilled some holes and tapped them. Will run a ground wire to the battery from the block.

Pulled it out of the garage. Was worried if the roll bar was going to hit the door head, but it did not. I know the Jeep will not come out with the top on.

Drove it a little on the street, about a city block, carburetor and clutch needs adjusting. Just the little I drove it the manual steering will take some getting use to. Power steering will be going in this winter.

Started on the rear disc brake conversion. Got everything mounted, need to order pads and work on brake lines then e-brake cables.
