There needs to be a Picture thread of Willys back when they were new? Does anyone have any pictures they could start the thread off with?

Interesting, the first and third jeeps in this pic have the wipers on the bottom of the windsheild frame. The second one has a split windshield with wipers on top.

CJ's went to bottom mount wipers in 68 or thereabouts. The split windshield was used on military and (I think) some very early civillian models.

Yeah, I'm taking about the pic of the jeeps coming off the Toledo assembly line, supposedly in 1968. There are three jeeps. First and third have low mount wipers. Second has high mount wipers. Were they assembling old jeeps off the same line as the newer jeeps, or was this a staged picture?

Interesting to note that they all have the hood reflectors which are generally agreed upon to indicate 1969 manufacture, (if truly original to the JEEP.) the first year of side markers being federally required.

Second JEEP has a venting windshield. Don't know if the venting windscreens ever had bottom mount wipers.
    Perhaps for export in 1969.

The second Jeep on the assembly line has a tip out, hinged at the top windshield glass. My wife's cousin had a Jeep with this type of windshield when we got married in 1971. I wish I knew where it went.
The first 1969 Jeeps were built in 1968. That is not a reflector on the hood but a side marker light.

Picture could have been taken in latter part of '68 when they were building '69 model year JEEPs. What's really interesting is the 3rd full size on the left line with the earlier grill inset. Also it looks like the one with the high mount wipers might have a 2 piece windshield....ventilating maybe? I see others noticed that also. IIRC those are reflectors on the hood, not lights.

Oh, Jeeps. I posted a pic of a Willys, but it isn't a Jeep.

This wasn't really tech, but it's kinda turned that way. I'll leave it here for now.
