mine is missing something. I popped out the horn button and someone had bent the middle horn assembly into itslef rendering it useless, I straightened everthing but I cannot figure out how the center node touched the metal backing of the button itslef. does it have another peice that I am missing? so far here is what I have:

top button with metal insert and ring inside

brass? ring that is held down with center nut

insert that goes inside the column and a wire attached comes out the side of the shaft about 4 inches down.

thats it, I am wondering how the center gets to touch the metal on the cap to complete the circuit but I cant figure it out, clearance is too tight for some kinda spring and I dont see how this thing can do it in this setup. I tried looking online and couldnt find a thing.

yes thats it exactly! thanks for having that.

looks like what I am needing is the 3400-8 assembly, in the upper pic it looks separate, but in the lower pic its like one piece. I am wondering if its spring loaded. anybody have an idea?
