I drug this home about a year and half ago., because I had never seen one. The stretch on the body looks factory the frame is not as high of quality. I am curious if this was a Factory unit or home built ? currently its not running and has the incorrect F-head motor. its relatively rust free. I am getting ready to start my next project, and I would hate to screw up a rare jeep by modifying it. So any info would be great. any Idea on Value? Here is the link to the photos to when I brought it home

    Thanks for any info, Jerry

looks longer than a cj6 to me......be interesting to get the overall measurements for comparison..........others with more knowledge will chime in I'm sure but I've not heard of a factory flat fender stretch..........that being said, that'll be one very cool rig when completed I'd think

  3. Looks like a nice stretch job. Way better looking than the guys that stretch the hood. Very cool!

I've seen one of those before. From what I cold learn, it was most likely done by a professional shop (not a back yard mechanic), and then may have even been sold by the dealer as a "factory modification or option". The chances are though Willys probably didn't do the stretch themselves. I'd like to learn more though and find a definite answer (if that is possible).

Interesting modification. My guess would be a post-factory conversion, too, but it looks pretty cool the way it is. It'd be something different and quite interesting if you left it like that.

    Love the padded dash. :D

I remember a similar jeep for sale along Highway 99E in Canby, OR back in the mid 90s. It even had a similar metal half cab. Does your jeep have any evidence of yellow paint?

I remember that one too. Stopped and looked at it and wished I had the money at the time.... Very cool Jeep.
