Anybody use this utility seat for a rear seat?

Based on the dimensions, it looks like it would just fit. If not that, is there comparable (or cheaper) source for a rear seat? I don't care if it's stock, I just need something to put the kids in.

Search the craigslist and such in your area. Know when I had my tj the rear seat was the first thing I removed(so my English mastiff could ride along). Dropped to some lucky jeeper. Had a vintage seat in the yj I just sold think that and the carpet were was holding the floor together.

You should be able to find one in your area for less then $100

Ha, you nailed it. Should've checked there, but I wasn't sure what would fit. Thanks!

I don't think a TJ seat would work, too wide, isn't it?

    The CJ/YJ seats will.

Don't know, personally, but I emailed one of the guys in the ads asking to measure it, so I'll know for sure.

Cool! Didn't know Northern Tool had anything like that. If it's decent, I may have to look into one of those for my '62 DJ3A as a throw-in-when-I-need-it thing. Or, if it's short enough when folded, I could just leave it in most of the time and make a plywood cover that went over the fenderwells and covered it. :) Looks like that'd be about as much with shipping as the cheapest thing 4WD or Quadratec have before shipping.

Well, the TJ seat in the ad is about 40", so no go there.
