    Hello.

I belive i know all the reasons why coolant recovery tank will not work for the F-134 cooling system. But ... I never try it.
Does anyone use recovery tank on the F-134? Any changes in the original radiator cap?
It will be nice to use a bottle and save those liquids.

There is no reason why it won't work. Original cap and all...

Just keep in mind that the old systems run a much lower pressure than vehicles of today, usually around 4-7 PSI instead of 20+ PSI!

Or, 13 psi instead of 16-18.

turn your rad cap over, an original cap should have one seal, compare to later model vehicle. One for a newer vehicle has two. The first seal prevents it from leaking, till a pressure is reached. The second seal prevents it from sucking air when things cool down. You should be able to find a correct pressure cap with both seals. If your cap has both seals dissregard every thing I said.

    Thank del,

When i wrote "I belive i know all the reasons why coolant recovery tank will not work for the F-134 ..." i pointed to the cap issue just as you said.
My cap has only one seal which block any possibility of getting back fluids when coll down as i understand it. It is 7 L
So all the members who said they use a recovry tank (and it works fine) use cap with 2 seals?

If someone can post a picture of a cap with 2 seals it will help me to get the right one.

    thanks

Someone made a recovery bottle out of a GI aluminum canteen--I believe I saw it on another forum somewhere.
