A co-worker gave this Willys to me today. All I know is that the motor runs but the transmission won't shift. I wanted the motor to use in a boat or something.
I'd like to know what year (or ballpark) it is. I know jack about flat fenders.

looks like a dj with the top cut off. to find the exact year you need the serial # from the firewall tag. dj-3a's were made from 55-64. I wanna get a crappy jeep like that and drive it around as is lol youd sure get alot of looks

It's a floor shift. And 4WD. I never thought about it being a dispatch.

My first impression is that it had a home-made cab on it at one time. Was the DJ-3A ever set up with a postal cab? I've never seen one ... I thought the postal cab started with the DJ-5A ca 1970?

    Ok, here we go: [IMG]

DJ-3A body on a CJ frame?

All I know of it's history is that an old man used it for 20+ years to herd cattle. Up until he passed away 2 years ago.

Yep. Clearly, nobody actually cared about that Jeep.

Lifesgoodhere Like 6 Jeeps isn't enough

Engines possibly from a Henry J. Look under the distributor on the block for a tag that says Kaiser Supersonic.

If it is a true Supersonic engine its making a amazing 67 Hp at the flywheel.

The front half of that jeep looks nearly identical to my dj-3a that was also converted to 4x4 at one point in time. If I could see the rear of the tub, I could definitely verify that. I'm guessing rear fuel tank, and no tailgate.
