SO I finally got my intake and truck avenger on, so I thought I'd pout the HEi in as well. Is my wiring correct? The stock black, red, yellow wires are untouched, and the accel plug I bought had a green and red wire. I wired the red wire to the constant 12v source and the green unhooked until I get a Tach...does that sound right?

I may just have to go back to TDC since I had to guess where my rotor mark was on the firewall...since it got washed off.

The wire that goes to the battery + side should be a key sourced 12v, not constant. The coil - is where the tack would go.

I wired my "(+) batt" to a relay switched 12v source. The HEI can draw alot of power, and you dont necessarily want that all running thought the ignition switch. Its worked great for a year now on the relay circuit.

    From my writeup:

    Question:
I wire a relay in to my HEI like above with a 40A relay. I used the neg battery terminal as ground.....but the jeep would never shut down without having to pul the HEI power plug. It shuts down fine with just wiring it to a 12v source...so is this a bad relay, or what? I'd love to keep the relay in line....but not shutting down could be a pain.

Thats odd.. are you sure you dont have the 86 and 85 terminals crossed?

yeah, it's wired correctly. I must just be getting feedback through the relay. I'll likely just put an inline fuse and be doe with it.
