greetings! last year while i was in afghanistan i bought a local jeep that came from texas sight unseen- a 60 cj5 vin 57548112646- yesterday we un covered it & gave it a going over- look! no rust! i didnt know they made them this way! anyway this jeep has some odd things about it- it was originally pink from the factory- it has the fake battery box cover on the cowl but it also has a 60/40 type of hinged seat on it that i have never seen on a jeep- some of the original seat cover still exists on the passenger side & it was pink & white striped. any body ever seen one like this? was this jeep something special when it was new? thanks!

holy pink hog snout batman! what horrors- a whole PINK jeep! i can assure- this jeep wont ever be pink again! not to say I've never done pink- my 1st car was a pink & white 210 2 door 57 chevy. ah, those were the days. back when the dinosaurs were tromping around i had a cj3b with a pinto engine with a corvair turbo on it. man that thing was like riding a mule with a yellow jacket under the saddle. er, sorry for the ramble, but i am over 50 now you know.

Andy... you said CJ5... any chance we can see some pics?
I don't recall a factory surrey package for the CJ5, just the DJ3a as Billy pictured above.

Maybe you have Indian Ceramic paint, badly faded...?
    Pics will help us.
As a relic from the dinosaur days myself, would also love to see pics/details of that 3B... :D

X2, I don't recall there ever being a Surrey CJ-5, just the DJ-3A. jpflat2a can speak to that better than I can, but I've never read about one.

Nothing else sounds odd about this Jeep. Just sounds like a nice example of a CJ-5 that may have had the seats recovered. :D

    jpflat2a what's that noise?

I'm not aware of any CJ5 surreys.
Pictures of the Jeep are needed though.
    and what Sparky said.

Plus you'll need a white linen suite and will need to practice your spanish accent as you say - "Welcome to Fantasy Island!"

hey- i will get a couple of cj5 piks when it stops raining- the 3b is long gone- we took the drive train & put them under a 49 ford f1 about 1972- it went away in a trade somehow on a 68 hemi gtx. i did have a fuzzy Polaroid of it- well just the top of the windshield frame poking up out of the singing river at pascagoula. why didnt someone tell me you need brakes to launch your boat?
