Identify this wire (engine bay)

    Where would this clipped wire go?? To the coil perhaps?

    Its just a single wire but so I could be wrong but it looks like the coil negative wire and or the tach wire if you have one. It goes back to the ignition module onder the drivers fender as well.

    I agree with mike: Tach Wire. That's what mine looks like on my 258 for my Tach. Also all my diagrams for the V8's show that wire as the Tach wire (green). I also see you have the famous multi-coloring Jeep wiring!!!

    Most people without a Tach just leave her hanging (tie her up out of the way)....now go buy yourself a Tach!!!
