Thanks. I have a '66 w/225 that I bought completely disassembled. I am missing the battery tray among other items. Was hoping for a good source. I have not been able to find one that looks like yours.

Thanks for posting. I am saving your images as inspiration for mine :).

Work on the orange jeep has slowed to a snail's pace. Been driving the snot out of it all summer now and can't stand the thought of down time. I've done a few small things like emblems, marker lights, skid pan modifications, and carb tuning. I love the Holley Truck Avenger and highly recommend it to other jeep owners.

Today I got "Animal" fever in a bad way (Grrrr!!); I really wanted to put some steel wheels on the JEEP. Well, alas, it was not meant to be; 16" steel wheels WILL NOT fit over disc brakes. Are 1-1/8" disc to drum conversions common?

    Man this wouldda looked schweeeeet!

They look like the Co-op tires I've gotten in before. I've had them in a 700-15, 750-16 and a 900-16. 15" wouldn't be a problem, if you could get your hands on them.

Would a small set of spacers make them fit?

Hold the phone, folks! This just in, JEEP fans:

Was browsing through some John Bull pics tonight and came across this beauty of a CJ5:

Does this guy (greencj5) know how to build a JEEP, or what?!?! I mean, am I the only one that sees a similarity? I'm thinking now I might try to find a set of Ren knockoffs and some 33x10.50 BFG and just use the steel wheels on the '63 like I'm supposed to, anyway.

A little update. I've finished constructing linkage; I can shift the OD and t-case like factory now. Built a cage. This cage is actually going to end up in my '63, but using it for now until I finish the one for the '70.

Took it out to Randolph, KS and wheeled the Tuttle Creek ORV park. Found out my LSDs need new clutches. Going to have to find some downtime here this winter and rebuild them. Thinking about something more substantial in the rear. An Ox would be nice, but not sure if I want to make the investment at this point; need to finish off a couple other projects first. A new set of clutches are pretty cheap by comparison. Had a hard time with some of this stuff:

Notchet; still have the 27 up front. I've got the Detroit still safely boxed up awaiting to go in a freshly rebuilt '78 D30 with big discs that's just sitting here. I had wanted to get it in this spring, but ended up driving the JEEP, and now I've got to move, so that project is currently on hold. It's definitely on the agenda, though; I need more turning radius! I had to turn the steering stops back because the tires were hitting the springs. I think that Detroit up front and an OX in the back would do well. Maybe I'll sneak the D30 into my HHG shipment and put it in down at the Auto Hobby Shop on base in FL.

Working on the air cleaner tonight. Picked up this unit off of an '80s 360 Wagoneer. Lot better than the crappy FLAPS 8" chrome deal I've been using. The hose coming toward the driver's fender is going to be a cold air intake I'm building that will attach to the grille where the stock heater duct used to enter. Going to pick up a Dauntless sticker from GDB for a bit of a vintage look:

how much rain or splash water might funnel through your grill/heater duct opening into your intake?

Hmmm... I dunno. I'm going to put a 90* elbow at the radiator box. I figured the rain wouldn't be able to make the turn and run uphill to the carb. Whatcha think?
