Is it direct drive or clutched? If direct drive, get a thermal fan clutch for it. IMO, lightweight fans are pretty much worthless. Stick with an OEM fan with a thermal clutch. That way it only engages when it is needed. Dyno tests show the validity of this.

I don't think there is enough room on a :v6: in stock form. If there was, that's what I'd have :)

What's between the fan and the water pump? Either a spacer or clutch is the norm, but you never know...The V6 should be shorter than the F head motor leaving a little extra room. Got a pic?

Nothing between the fan and water pump.

Patrick is correct there's (almost) no room there...

What's the bolt pattern on the fan and how many blades does it have?

4 bolts seven blades, there's a pic of one that rotates in the banners or you can check the :v6: pictures in the picture bank section of our gallery.

Five blades on my fan. Only about 2 1/2" between pump and radiator. I picked up a electric fan at the junk yard but its to deep.

Is everyone using the OE fan?

My factory fan has (I think) 5 blades. Like I said, I'd love to put a fan clutch on the Jeep..

We had a discussion recently about the fan blades being uneven due to the harmonics that an even bladed fan would create.

Didn't realize there were four-blade fans that were put on the :v6:.

Mine had a 4 blade from the factory with a 1/2" cast spacer behind it. Firefighter mike has it on his now. Mine was all factory.
I think the 5 blade was the heavy duty unit, it may also have been used on the smaller radiators like Patricks to aid in cooling.
I run a flex fan now.

Mine looked just like Mudweiser's jeep, and I doubt you could break that thing by cramming it thru 5 radiators, its made out of steel thats just as thick as the crossmember.

I'm going to look over my buddies '67 Tuxedo Park this weekend and contemplate what might work. Have any of you guys looked at running the grill from an intermediate CJ5? They mount the radiator really far forward between the headlights. Should be a bolt on. You would be able to run a much larger radiator and pretty much any fan combination you wanted.

I contemplated using one on my A1, but I want to keep the flat bottomed blackout light openings in the grill and recessed headlamps. In addition, mine is an early model with the hinged grill.
