Well actually I do but my gauge isn't reading. I used the port under the Alt and the pass side front of the engine for both my oil pressure sender and an oil pressure idiot light.

The idiot light is working fine but I can't get my gauge to read. I replaced the sender and the autometer gauge but is still doesn't read. I thought is was being pluged by pipe tape but that wasn't it either. I've jumped the gauge and it reads fine.

Is my problem because I have too much stuff hooked to one port? Is there another port I can use?

The engine runs awesome and makes zero noise and the idiot light is not coming on so I assume that I do have oil pressure.

This is one of the last things to do in my build but I hate to take it for a test drive with my gauges not being 100%.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    jpflat2a what's that noise?

no, pressure is pressure regardless of how many gauges hooked to it.
    power to the sender ?
gauge to sender wire okay ?
    power to the gauge ?
I know you've checked, but I gotta ask anyway:)

Sorry I dont have much experience with flatheads, You could tempoarily screw a mechanical gauge in it until you can sort it out. The F-Heads have a port on the rear drivers side.

He's got a V6 not a flathead. Try a cheapie mechanical gauge and make sure your distributor is seated and held in place by the hold down.

All good advice................. so I'll go out and tripple check all of the above and get a mechanical if all else fails.

i recall seeing another port on the pass side in the rear of the block on mine.

you might have an air pocket on the sending unit (i had one on mine)as well. I ended up filling my sending unit with oil and freezing it over night and installing it quickly before the oil warmed up and came out.

Figured out my problem so I thought I'd share in case any of you have this problem in the future. The problem ended up being a very simple fix. Both the gauge and the Oil idiot light were not working and the problem ended up being a bad ground. Not at the gauge but at the sending units. I used Tephlon (sp?)tape and that was enough to stop a good ground at the block and thus nothing worked. I removed everything, cleaned the tape off and sealed the threads with a high temp thread sealer and bingo! Everything works as it should.

yer suppose to use thread sealer on those?

R)R)R) glad ya got it worked out....now go update in the build thread all the fun stuff you've done!

 Good deal, I will remember the Teflon Tape advice. Glad you figured it out.

Would never have believed that teflon would have covered every thread surface of metal FROM metal? I guess rust could also have been a contributing factor. Good find.
