Nothing that complex. One is a ground for the backlight, the other for the tach. The other 3 gauges all have an integrated ground so you only have to bring power to the light and power to the gauge. Not sure why the tach had to be different.

Nice job, the dash really looks good all put together like that. Like the color, too.

We have working ignition...I can flip the switch and the voltmeter kicks in, the tach sets to 0, and heater will come on.

After supper is wiring the starter relay, then onto fuel pump relay with it's multiple trigger inputs.

Looks great Mike nice job,but how many times did you smash your head on the steering shaft be fore you covered it up.R)

Fuel pump relay is now wired - with triggers from a manual switch (for "priming" the system after the Jeep has sat for a while), the starter switch (for fuel while starting), and through an oil pressure safety switch (for "normal" engine running operation).

The oil pressure gauge sending unit is also mounted and wired.

Oh...where to go next...brakelight switch, backup light switch, or mounting a power plug in the side of the toolbox between the seats...

Here's the relay strip so far - with relays for parking lights, headlights, ignition, starter, and fuel pump. I think I'm going to use another for the hazard lights.

Lots of wire management to do there yet with spiral wrap, zip ties etc -- I just want to make sure everything works first.

Wow... I hate electrical, I try to keep it as simple as possible, looks like you took the other route R)

Looks great though, very clean install!

Some of it is just moving complexity from the dash to the fenderwell - since I'm not running a keyed ignition or standard headlight switch all that switching is happening here instead.

There are more connections than I'd prefer as well - but worst case if something happens on the trail I just pull some wires off the relays and short them together to get back to camp.

That's the beauty of doing it yourself, easier to trouble shoot in a pinch when you know all of the ins and outs.

I won't have that luxury since that is the only part of my build I didn'y do.

    Good job Mike (as always)

I got hazard lights working tonight. Since I wasn't using an original switch I ended up wiring some more diodes into the circuit - so the hazards would power all the lights but the turn signals couldn't backfeed and fire all the lights.

Also got my backup lights wired, and the turn signal sandblasted with one coat of paint on it.

are you going to put some kind of splash cover on that? I put all my relays and bus bars for my FI in a rubber made tub to keep them dry and provide some strain relief.

Not sure yet. I don't do mud or deep water, so not sure how much to worry about it.

Tonights progress - a power plug mounted in the side of the toolbox:

It locates nicely by the rollcage "belt" so things like cell phones can be secured and powered and still out of the way (couldn't find my cell phone case so "imagine if you will...;):
