Hello, I have a 1960 CJ5 I'm currently restoring and it has an uncommon front window. It's a split window that also folds out. I had to cut the rubber out and looking for replacements for the inner and outer glass seals but I can not find them. One gentleman told me nobody makes them any more and I'd have to replace the frame. I really don't want to buy a new single piece frame, I would like to keep it original and have the unique window. If anyone one knows where I might could find the seals or have any for sale it would be greatly appreciated. You can email me at tgales02@yahoo.com. Thank you.

Pete DeBella at DeBella Jeep parts has 'em. Make sure he knows you need one for the CJ5/M38A1 windshields, and not the CJ3B, they're different. http://www.debellajeepparts.com/ There's several guys here with the ventilating windshields, I guess they were fairly common on the M38A1's and were an option or export item on the CJ5's & 6's. Most all that I've seen photos of are split like yours, but mine has a 1-piece glass in it. Don't know if it's supposed to be 1-piece or split, it might have been altered but it doesn't look like it.

In any event, hang onto it! Those are rare and valuable.

You do not want that. They are a pain. Just send it on over to me and I will get rid of it for ya!:)

Welcome from another '60 owner with a ventilating frame (currently restoring) as well. Yep, like Rondog said, call Pete Debella. Also, welcome to the board and pics man, PICS!

The optional/export opening frame you have fits inside the stock frame.
If you do not want to bother with the opening part and want better/wider visibility just remove it.
Then a stock windshield will fit in the hole that is left.
