I have considered this idea myself using jerry cans as aux. fuel tanks,

I've considered only external mounting with gravity feed like is done with those pet watering systems where it uses gravity but only when the level drops below the fill tube. After this discussion I think I'll consider a aux. rear tank instead.

I am allways transfering fuel from my service truck to customers in need.I have a 12volt transfer pump system that works verry well. The down side is geting all the extra fuel back out of the hose when done.At work I put the system back in a 5 gal. bucket the fuel will leak out in time.Way to mutch mess to deal with in a jeep.I vote for pouring the jerry can.The fix for the leaky hose is to sleve it with a rubber hose with hose clamps on both ends. Are use zip ties.Great topic !! Thanks Brad
